Fernweh Apparel: A Shirt with a Purpose

As a traveller I’m always on the hunt for travel inspired clothing. I like to show the world, through my attire, what I’m passionate about. I’m passionate about travel, nature, and of course writing. So, when I stumbled upon Fernweh Apparel I knew it was the brand for me!

Fernweh: a longing for far-off places

Fernweh Apparel

Fernweh Apparel is a Canadian company that sells travel inspired clothing for the global-minded. Their amazingly simple, yet impactful, logo represents many things. The Fernweh Apparel logo is a circle, representing the world, four connecting lines within, representing the four points on the compass, and a silhouette of a bird taking flight, representing the global-minded individual.

The brand was, “created to represent and connect the community of travelers and global citizens.” On top of their cool t-shirts, tanks, and sweatshirts, for both men and women, Fernweh Apparel goes above and beyond. They donate 3% of sales to organizations that are working to improve the quality of life and the global environment.

“When you wear your fernweh you’re choosing to use your clothing to make a statement – to empower, to inspire and to show others that you’re doing your little bit of good to make our world better.” ~ Fernweh Apparel

By purchasing one of their items you are helping make a difference. Proving one person can make a difference. And as Fernweh Apparel grows, so does their impact on this global world of ours.

I chose the Boussole. It’s a white t-shirt with the Fernweh Apparel logo that also has the points of the compass on it. Boussole is actually French for compass. Another thing I love about their shirts is the cool and interesting names of each. Some other favourites were Wild, Forest and Balter. The t-shirt is a loose fit, light weight, has a large scooped neck, and drapes well. It was a perfect choice for exploring Toronto in the heat of the summer. It didn’t cling to my body, was so light weight and even after sitting down a while it didn’t wrinkle or crease.

I always have a habit of buying a size large as most women’s shirts are fitted and tight fitting. Which was my mistake with this shirt. It was a tad too big. But I made it work. So, note to those who are thinking of purchasing this shirt, be sure to double check the fitting chart on the website and choose accordingly.

I was first drawn in by their eye-catching and symbolic logo. But it was their message of global citizens working to create, inspire and empower a better world for everyone that tugged at my heartstrings. And when I received the t-shirt I knew that this was a brand I wanted to be a part of, get behind, and share with the world. Oh, and own all their apparel!

Fernweh Apparel currently offers; tanks, t-shirts, and sweatshirts for men and women.

Prices range from $25.99 to $64 CAD

I was given a t-shirt in return for an honest review, and as always al opinions are my own.

I’m a Canadian gal with a passion for wildlife, the great outdoors and travel and hope to inspire others to feel the same way! Travelling mostly solo I love to explore Ontario Gems in my own backyard as well as exotic cities around the world.
