Africa by Toto
There has never been a song that has resonated with me as much as Toto’s ‘Africa’. I’ve known the song my whole life and it has become my theme song pushing me towards a place I feel more connected to, yet still have yet to visit, then anywhere else in the world.
“He turned to me as if to say,
Hurry boy, it’s waiting there for you.”
“As sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti.”
Kokomo by The Beach Boys

“Cocktails and moonlit nights”
“We’ll be falling in love to the rhythm of the steel drum band.”
Istanbul (Not Constantinople) by The Four Lads
I remember singing the title of this song over and over again as a child when I first heard on the Tiny Toons cartoon, never realizing my later wanderlust to explore Istanbul.
On the Road Again by Willie Nelson
Every time I begin a road trip, no matter how long or short, I can’t help but sing the lyrics “on the road again.”

Seein’ things that I may never see again.”

Days are Numbers (The Traveller) by Alan Parsons Project
I think every traveller can relate to this song, always leaving town and the desire deep within that keeps telling us to go.
“When every moment seems to be a race against time
There’s always one more mountain left to climb.”
Holiday by Madonna

“If we took a holiday
Took some time to celebrate
…it would be so nice.”
