I know I do, every time I visit one! So, I’ve rounded up a list of my favourite lavender fields in Ontario that should be on your summer bucket list.

Forget about the hefty plane ticket to Provence! There are dozens of lavender farms in Ontario that will make you feel like you’ve found a slice of Europe in Ontario!
Purple Hill Lavender Farm
When I was looking up lavender farms near me to visit this summer I was thrilled to find one right here in Simcoe County. Purple Hill Lavender Farm is located in the charming small town of Creemore along an old dirt road. This adorable farm has three separate lavender fields, a grand old Victorian home sitting atop the hill, and sweeping views over the countryside.
If you’re looking for a road trip destination that focuses on Ontario small towns then head to Creemore and stop by Purple Hill! They’ve got fun purple Muskoka chairs set up to help with your picture-perfect photos, a small pond, and plenty of space to set up a lovely picnic lunch.
Don’t forget to pop into their cute barn store with an incredible hanging lavender chandelier to pick up a lavender bouquet, lavender bath salts, soy lavender candle, or one of their other awesome products. And before you leave, on the other side of the shop you’ll find fun hammocks to swing in and even catch sight of their lavender hanging up to dry.

Avalon Lavender Farm
A hidden gem of a lavender farm is Avalon! Set in the scenic countryside of Mono, it’s a short 10-minute drive north of Orangeville. The farm has over 30,000 lavender plants, and I love that the fields are dotted with picnic benches and shaded seating.
There’s plenty to do at the farm beyond wandering the lavender. You can pick your own, stroll their River Walk (a 10-minute stroll) or join one of their yoga classes. One highlight is they offer high tea in the lavender field.
From start to finish, I loved the experience at Avalon! Enter an enchanted forest trail from the parking lot, that leads onto the farm house grounds. I highly recommend popping into the shop, which is located in a heritage barn that dates to 1881. Inside they sell a variety of products using their lavender, from soap to honey.
Don’t forget to grab a handful of free feed in the shop, for their retired rescue horses that are just behind the barn. Along with the horses, you’ll spot a friendly flock of free-range hens too.
Tip: For a quiet farm experience, I went during a Thursday morning at 10 am (when they open) and we had the fields to ourselves.

Kelso Lavender Farm
Another popular lavender farm in Ontario is Kelso Lavender Farm in Milton. And if you’re looking for lavender fields near Toronto this is the perfect day trip as it’s less than an hour from the city. Kelso was established in 2017 but already has over 15 000 lavender plants and is growing.
You’ll love their rolling hills lined with fragrant lavender plants. And if you want to take one home to try growing yourself you can pick up a plant in the shop!
Along with the beautiful lavender fields they have a great shop selling a variety of products like lavender creams, lavender sprays, and lavender maple syrup. You can also purchase a fabulous bouquet in a variety of lavenders that range from English’s Royal Velvet to French’s Phenomenal.

Another lovely lavender farm in Ontario to visit is NEOB Lavender in Niagara on the Lake. This large farm offers tours, they have a massive greenhouse, and picturesque lavender fields to wander. A unique attraction to NEOB is that you have the option to pick your own lavender, which makes for a fun summer experience!
Along with various retail shops around Ontario, you can purchase they variety of lavender products onsite or online. They have everything from lavender hand soap to lavender beard oil, and more!

Bonnieheath Estate Lavender & Winery
If you’re looking for a great day trip that has a lot to offer then head to Norfolk County to visit Bonnieheath Estate Lavender & Winery. Yes, that’s right, this farm is the full experience! It’s a vineyard and lavender farm where you can stroll the lavender fields as well as sip on a glass of wine, there’s even a lavender one!
Located on a historic farm, dating back 200 years, Bonnieheath Estate is surrounded by nature, with wetlands that’s home to wildlife, native wildflowers, and prairie grasses. They grow both English and French lavender, of various varieties ranging from purple to white.
And this award-winning farm also hosts a lavender festival every year (except for 2020). In the early part of July Bonnieheath Estate boasts LavenderFest where you’ll enjoy food, fun, and of course all things lavender.

Prince Edward County Lavender
It wouldn’t be a list of the top lavender farms in Ontario without adding a Prince Edward County lavender farm. It’s no surprise that this picturesque area is home to a beautiful lavender farm, making it a perfect Ontario summer road trip destination!
Prince Edward County Lavender has a variety of lavenders, ranging from purple to white, and grow, distill, and create a wide array of lavender products. Their bright and airy shop is full of goodies. You’ll find things like fine herbs, including packages of culinary lavender florets for all your drink and food creations, lavender soaps, and even lavender hair conditioner.
If one lavender festival in Ontario wasn’t enough, Prince Edward County Lavender also hosts a Lavender festival every July (except for 2020). The festival is a fun event for all, with everything from local food vendors to live music, activities for children, and so much more!

Christel Lake Lavender
One of the dreamy lavender farms Ontario has hidden away in the rolling hills of the north Durham region is Christel Lake Lavender! This picturesque farm is a must add if you’re looking for things to do in Port Perry!
Just north of downtown Port Perry, this lavender farm is home to nearly 20 different lavender plants. Christel Lake Lavender is open seasonally from the middle of May through summer. Visits are by available by appointment only via their website. The farm covers 57 acres and is set along a scenic lake. As well as wandering the lavender fields, you can enjoy their walking trail around the lake or pack a picnic and eat by the shore.
The farm is family friendly too! Children will love their 50-foot play set that has a trampoline and swings. Plus, be sure to pop into their gift shop before you leave! The shop carries a range of products that includes culinary goods as well as beauty and health lavender-based items.

Apple Hill Lavender
Located in Norfolk County, just north of Simcoe, Apple Hill Lavender grows both lavender and apples. The farm dates to 1906 covers 45 acres and is currently on their fourth generation of Schooleys! You can visit from May through December, from Thursday to Sunday.
There is plenty of reasons to visit Apple Hill Lavender! Visit their spring collection apple blossoms or purchase lavender plants, in the summer wander the lavender fields, then grab some fresh apples in the fall! One of the best parts is that it’s one of the only lavender farms Ontario has without admission!
Apple Hill is also home to a fabulous bakehouse and shop. Their Carriage House Boutique has a variety of lavender products for both the home and body. You can also purchase bundles of fresh lavender in July too! The shop also sells handmade Raging Bowl Pottery.
If you’re looking for tasty lavender culinary treats, you’ll find an assortment here. But be sure to try their award-winning Lavender Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. The ice cream is made in partnership with Udderly Ridiculous and features Apple Hill Lavender!

Pingle’s Farm
One of the best farms in Ontario is Pingle’s Farm! Famous for their epic farm market and nearly year-round activities, it’s also is one of the best pick your own lavender farms Ontario has to offer!
Pingle’s Farm is located 15-minutes northwest of Oshawa. With 9 acres of flower fields, Pingle’s is one of the best summer destinations in the province. Visit during lavender season in Ontario, mid-July through August, and enjoy the 20 varieties of wildflowers and lavender rows.
Among the flowering lavender are a number of fun pitstops for photos to help you snag a memorable selfie! Plus, there’s tons of things to do at Pingle’s Farm! Included in you admission are wagon rides, a playland and more.

One of the hidden gems of York Region is The Giving Place. Along with running a Sunday market at their lovely plot of land in Mount Albert they also run a host of fun events like yoga or high tea in their lavender fields.
The Lavender Farm
There is plenty of things to do in Brant County. And in the summer, one is to visit The Lavender Farm in Ayr. This wedding venue and heritage farm has a lovely lavender field that they’ve been working for ten years.
Lavender-Blu
Between mid-June and mid-August head to Seagrave to visit Lavender-Blu. For those looking for things to do near Port Perry in the summer, this pick your own lavender farm is lovely. In addition to lavender fields, they have an artisan studio with hand-made items. One thing to note is that you need a reservation to visit.
Bayfield Lavender Farm

When to go: If you’re wondering what is the best time to visit an Ontario lavender farm is that depends on a lot of factors. But typically the best time to visit lavender fields in Ontario is from late June to late July when they are in peek bloom, but it can go into early August.
Tickets: Some lavender farms accept drive in visits while others you’ll need to book online in advance. Check their websites before you go.
Washrooms: Many lavender farms do not have public washrooms available, so plan accordingly.
Pets: Most farms do not allow pets onsite.
